FAQ’s

Most Campus Planters will need to relocate in order to plant a new campus ministry. Right now we are launching the Campus Planters program in the Rochester, NY area. So, you can expect to be placed with a church in that area.

The city you will live and work in is limited to those in which we have found a sponsoring church who wishes to participate in the Campus Planters program. Our staff carefully considers and prays over which sponsoring church to place you with. We also take into account your personal preferences throughout the process.

Yes, Campus Planters are domestic missionaries employed by BASIC on a part-time basis. You will be required to work at least 20 hours per week in establishing a new campus ministry. Because this is a part-time position and your time is valuable, we require Campus Planters to focus all of those hours on working with the church to pioneer the campus ministry.

Funding for your ministry will come through a combination of raising personal support and a stipend from the sponsoring church you will be working with. In most cases you will be required to raise $1,000 in monthly support and this can be done in about 3 months.

Don’t know how to raise support? Join the club. Neither does anyone else who joins BASIC! Every Campus Planter will attend a training event in Lima, NY hosted by BASIC, teaching you how to raise your personal support. You will then begin asking individuals and churches to come alongside you and give financially to the work that you’ll be doing. Don’t let money or the concern of asking others to give keep you from doing what God has called you to. Every BASIC staff member raises support and we promise to help you do it successfully!
